Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, David Travis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Corey Yantz!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Travis swats away the attempt to clinch by Yantz.

Yantz shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Yantz showed some decent athleticism there.

Travis manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Yantz throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Travis appears to be looking for a big counter.
Travis circles away from the clinch attempt.
Travis throws a big counter combination but Yantz scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Yantz is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Yantz fails in his attempt to clinch.
As Yantz looks to move away, Travis throws a big counter combo bu Yantz just gets out of the way.
David Travis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Travis misses with an attempted mid kick.
Corey Yantz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Yantz closes the distance and pushes Travis back into the cage.
Travis prevents Yantz from breaking the clinch.

Yantz is trying to trip Travis. He has hold of a leg but Travis is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Yantz persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Travis has his feet on Yantz's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Yantz looks to clinch
and Travis counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Travis moves into the clinch successfully.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Yantz pulls guard.
Travis postures up in Yantz's guard and throws a big left but Yantz blocks it.

Yantz is working an open guard so Travis takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Yantz shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Travis pushes Yantz off and scrambles back to his feet.

Yantz gets the takedown into side control.

Travis throws Yantz to one side and escapes!
Yantz tests Travis's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Yantz connects with the punch.
Yantz misses with a series of wild punches.
Travis appears to be looking for a big counter.
Travis could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Yantz closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Travis to the mat! Travis manages to get full guard.

Travis pushes Yantz off and gets back to his feet.

Yantz closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Yantz lands in his opponent's guard.

Travis pushes Yantz off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A head kick misses from Yantz.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Yantz avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Travis has managed to clinch.
Travis trying to land knees to the body.
Travis creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Yantz's defenses.

Yantz jumps guard and drags Travis to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Yantz looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Travis working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Travis prevents Yantz from getting back to his feet.

Travis gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Travis dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Yantz gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Travis has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Yantz uses from the top position.
Travis is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Yantz can do to turn this around?

Travis manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Yantz is looking to clinch but Travis is avoiding it.

Oooooh!!! Yantz has knocked Travis down with a huge combo! Yantz steps away and waves a wobbly Travis back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


Travis is rocked!


It looks like David Travis has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Travis circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Yantz. Travis falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Yantz!
