PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dawood Erteki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Al Rothstein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Erteki comes into the arena with Fade to Black blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dawood Erteki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Al Rothstein!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Rothstein does it's job there.
Erteki stuffs the takedown.
Erteki is looking to clinch but Rothstein is avoiding it.
Erteki misses with an attempted mid kick.
Erteki stuffs the takedown attempt from Rothstein. Rothstein gets slowly back to his feet.
Erteki is looking to clinch but Rothstein is avoiding it.
Rothstein pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rothstein lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Rothstein blocks a head kick by Erteki.
Erteki wants to clinch up but Rothstein keeps it at a distance.
Rothstein avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Erteki avoids the head kick by Rothstein.
Rothstein misses with a head kick.
Rothstein fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Erteki tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rothstein swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Rothstein fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Dawood Erteki has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Al Rothstein.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rothstein buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Erteki is looking to clinch but Rothstein is avoiding it.
Erteki is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Rothstein.
Rothstein pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Erteki pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Rothstein closes the distance and clinches.

Rothstein breaks the clinch.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Erteki tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Rothstein counters with a right hand to the body.
Erteki is breathing heavily.
Erteki stuffs the takedown attempt from Rothstein. Rothstein gets slowly back to his feet.
Erteki tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Rothstein counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Rothstein checks a leg kick nicely.
Erteki darts in trying to clinch
and Rothstein counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Rothstein lands a two punch combo.


It looks like Dawood Erteki has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Erteki takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Rothstein closes this distance looking for a takedown but Erteki circles away.
Rothstein works over Erteki's head and body with a nice combination.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Rothstein.
Rothstein fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Rothstein instigates a clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The is referee keeping an eye on Rothstein - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Rothstein pulls guard successfully.
Erteki stays in close to Rothstein's body and controls the position.
Erteki wants to stand but Rothstein has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Erteki wants to control from the top but Rothstein keeps moving.
Rothstein manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Erteki tries to hold on but Rothstein pushes him away.
Rothstein thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rothstein tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Erteki is bucking up trying to escape but Rothstein cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Rothstein working the ground and pound effectively.
Rothstein thowing shots but they're missing.
Rothstein is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Rothstein lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Rothstein looking to control and managing it successfully.
Rothstein unloading with bombs!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rothstein landing strikes from the mount and Erteki is in trouble!

Rothstein avoids the attempt from Erteki to control.
Rothstein looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

Rothstein lands a big shot there that rocks Erteki but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Oooooh, big shot lands for Rothstein! Erteki is hurt baaadly! Rothstein is firing away with more strikes - Erteki is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Al Rothstein!
