The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Speed stalks The and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into The's face. The staggers backwards, shaken.

The has hold of one of Speed's legs. Speed is fighting the takedown attempt but The gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Speed uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from The.

The jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Speed walks away with a smile on his face. The gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Speed enables The to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Speed manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Speed is trying to keep The in close.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
The defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Speed.
The throws a series of punches but Speed moves out of range.
The shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Speed defends it nicely.
Speed lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Videogamer The. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Speed tries to score a power double leg takedown but The sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Speed somewhat.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Videogamer The.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for The, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
