PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between pure sin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Saki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, pure sin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eric Saki!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Russell Pearce and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saki pulls out of a head kick attempt.
sin shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

sin shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Saki pinned against the cage. Saki gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

pure sin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

sin bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Saki manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

sin looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
sin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Saki does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

sin slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
sin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Saki on the ground.

That was a close round but I would say that pure sin will probably get the nod.
That's time! sin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


sin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Saki tries to avoid it but sin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Saki to the ground. Saki escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

sin closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Saki parries the strikes from sin easily there. sin is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Saki to escape.

sin's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Saki has his foot on sin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. sin works his way back into a safe position though.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!

sin shoots in but Saki avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Saki misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

sin shoots in looking for a takedown. Saki tries to sprawl out of it but sin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Saki manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
sin takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
No luck for sin with that takedown attempt.
sin gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Saki lands a straight punch to the body, keeping sin at a distance.
sin avoids the head kick by Saki.
sin will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Saki thuds his right hand into sin's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Saki fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches sin on the side of the head.
sin shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Saki pinned against the cage. Saki gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
sin drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
sin shoots in but no luck this time.
sin takes one to the side of the head.
Saki takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Saki tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Eric Saki is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
sin shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Saki throws a quick head kick that skims the top of sin's head.

sin shoots for a double leg takedown but Saki sprawls well. He's pushed sin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
