Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Esteban Enrique! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimmy Stuard! The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Joseph Jones and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Enrique fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Stuard to the ground. Enrique is now in Stuard's guard. Stuard looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Enrique has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Stuard is proving hard to escape from. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Enrique tries to free his leg and advance position but Stuard is retaining full guard. Enrique controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Enrique drops back, looking for a kneebar! Stuard looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Stuard looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Stuard!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Enrique sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Enrique is positioning himself well to prevent Stuard advancing to mount. Enrique wants to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Enrique tries to roll over but Stuard keeps him under control. Enrique is trying to maintain the position but Stuard is very close to passing his half guard. Enrique tries to roll over but Stuard keeps him under control. Stuard is trying to control. Enrique wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Stuard wants to work for an arm triangle but Enrique is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Enrique tries to get out of the position. Enrique working to try and regain half guard.
Stuard controlling his opponent. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Enrique is desperately trying to improve his position but Stuard has a good base and remains in mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Enrique defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Stuard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Enrique working to try and regain half guard.
We've been informed that Stuard has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Stuard takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Enrique is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes. Enrique doing his best to control the position. Can he escape? Enrique is squirming around, avoiding Stuard's attempts to control the action.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Enrique keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Enrique wants to hold on but Stuard pushes him away. Stuard tries to control but Enrique wriggling away. Enrique tries to hold on but Stuard pushes him away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jimmy Stuard dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Enrique shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Stuard napping and manages to drive through into side control! Enrique tries to stand but Stuard is controlling his head. Enrique is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Stuard knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Enrique is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Stuard's shoulder. That is not cool. Stuard is breathing heavily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Enrique moves into full mount! Enrique tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Enrique has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Enrique with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Enrique tries to control but Stuard wriggling away. Enrique controlling the pace for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Enrique stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Stuard shoots and misses and Enrique counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Enrique drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Enrique looks up at the clock and then as Stuard takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Enrique smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Enrique remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Enrique decides to stand back up. Enrique steps back and let's Stuard get back to his feet. Stuard blocks a head kick by Enrique.
And Stuard tries to counter it with a takedown but Enrique pushes his down on his head and steps out. Enrique scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Enrique is pressing down on Stuard's thigh, looking to free his foot. Stuard is holding on for now. Enrique is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Stuard defends it well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Enrique in particular looking to stall. Enrique tries to pass the half guard into mount. Stuard knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Esteban Enrique dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Enrique tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Stuard tries to sprawl but Enrique drives through with a takedown into half guard. Enrique looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Enrique is working for a submission of some sort.
Enrique is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Stuard takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Enrique wants to control but Stuard is keeping him busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Enrique throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Enrique lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Stuard is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Enrique pulls his head out easily. Enrique working the head and body with strikes. Enrique trying to control from half guard but Stuard is working away. Esteban Enrique overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Enrique stalling.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Enrique throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Stuard was covering up waiting for the punch and Enrique finishes the takedown easily into guard. Stuard escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Enrique gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Enrique seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Enrique with a flurry of punches that miss. Enrique controls from within his opponent's guard. Enrique looking to pass the guard. Enrique content to stall in guard here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Enrique clinches up against the cage. Enrique breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Enrique throws a head kick that misses. Enrique gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
And that's the end of the fight! Esteban Enrique showed his dominance in that final round. Well Enrique has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
