Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pete Dunham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Prince Edgar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Pete Dunham! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Prince Edgar! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Paul Gruel and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dunham scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Edgar holding on. Dunham thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Edgar tries to get back to half guard but can't. Edgar manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Dunham misses with a head shot. Edgar uses the momentum to regain guard. Dunham postures up and lands a big shot to Edgar's brow. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Edgar is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Dunham is working Edgar over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dunham with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Edgar working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Dunham. Edgar shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dunham as he jumps to the side. Dunham lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Edgar circles away quickly and effectively. A punch combination from Dunham misses. Pete Dunham seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Dunham tries to close the distance and clinch up but Edgar swats him away and circles back towards the center. Edgar misses with a few strikes there.
Dunham shoots in and gets a takedown into Edgar's guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Dunham won't allow Edgar to sweep him here. Edgar lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Edgar slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Edgar pushes down on Dunham's leg and manages to get into half guard. Dunham actively working from the bottom here. Dunham is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Edgar pulls his head out easily. Dunham looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Edgar postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Dunham to stand up. Dunham closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Edgar did well to prevent Dunham getting side control. Edgar moves into full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Edgar manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Dunham manages to get himself to full guard.
Edgar is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Edgar passes Dunham's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Edgar works his foot free and advances to mount. Edgar looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Edgar tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Edgar landing strikes from the mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Prince Edgar dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Dunham looking to score a takedown here. Edgar is defending well but Dunham drives through and ends up in Edgar's guard. Edgar scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Dunham throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Dunham closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dunham lands in his opponent's guard. Edgar has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Dunham is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Dunham wants the takedown. Edgar is fighting it off but Dunham persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Edgar's guard against the cage. Edgar bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Dunham's guard.
Edgar has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Edgar looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Dunham has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Edgar can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Dunham on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Dunham tries to get out of the position. Edgar not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Edgar decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Dunham looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Edgar! Edgar throws Dunham to one side and escapes! Edgar fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Edgar checks a leg kick. As Dunham backs off Edgar throws a huge counter combo but Dunham manages to avoid it all. Dunham drives through with a takedown into guard. Edgar wriggles free and stands up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Dunham misses with a two punch combination.
Dunham feints and as Edgar raises his hands in defense, Dunham changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Edgar is pulling down on Dunham's head. It's preventing any offense from Dunham, at least for the moment. Edgar not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Edgar controlling the position. Dunham is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Edgar is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Dunham content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Dunham has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Dunham scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Edgar pulls Dunham in to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dunham postures up in Edgar's guard and throws a big left but Edgar blocks it. Edgar bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Dunham's guard. Dunham can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Edgar controls the pace. Edgar's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Dunham throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Dunham has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Edgar is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Dunham. Edgar advances to full mount. Edgar sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Edgar swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
