Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Aleksandr Martynov and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Polatidis shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Cardenas's guard.
Polatidis throws a strike but Cardenas rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Cardenas has gone for a leg lock! Polatidis slips out almost immediately though and dives into Cardenas's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Polatidis is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Cardenas is aware though and is defending well.

Giorgos Polatidis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
