Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Randy Lamon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bjornigin Xian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Xian shoots for a double leg takedown but Lamon sprawls well. He's pushed Xian's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Lamon shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Xian counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Xian.
Lamon tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Xian smiles and moves away.

and Xian counters with a takedown into side control.
Lamon is trying to work for a sweep but Xian has mounted him!
Lamon sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Lamon is breathing heavily.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Xian in particular looking to stall.
Lamon is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Xian perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Xian's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Xian seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Lamon is looking to stand up but Xian isn't so interested in that idea.

Let's hope that Xian has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Xian seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Xian stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lamon swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Bjornigin Xian has got the better of the ground game so far.
Xian slips into full mount, dodging the strikes by Lamon.
Lamon wants to control but Xian is having none of it.
Xian tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Xian takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
BOOM! Xian connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Xian is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Lamon can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
