Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tobbe Ostegren! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Luh Sosa! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, David Hoff and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sosa lands with a nice combination. Ostegren backs away looking to recover. Sosa will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Ostegren seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Ostegren closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Ostegren lands in his opponent's guard. Sosa is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Ostegren throwing strikes from guard but Sosa blocks nicely. Ostegren throwing strikes but missing. Ostegren throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ostegren is looking to work some ground and pound but Sosa has wrist control. The fighters are working up against the cage. Sosa manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage. Ostegren breaks the clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ostegren blocks a head kick by Sosa.

Ostegren gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Sosa throws a head punch that misses. Sosa is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Ostegren lands an elbow inside that Sosa shrugs off. Ostegren's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Sosa pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Sosa throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Ostegren. Ostegren lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sosa tries to close the distance and clinch but Ostegren swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Ostegren throwing a counter right hand but Sosa manages to avoid it. Sosa misses with a double jab.
A jab from Sosa finds it's way through Ostegren's defenses. Luh Sosa is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Ostegren fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Some wild striking there from Sosa.
A little feinted left hand from Ostegren on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Sosa moves in looking to clinch but Ostegren pushes him off. As Sosa looks to move away, Ostegren throws a big counter combo bu Sosa just gets out of the way. Ostegren takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

Sosa lands a nice looking body kick. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sosa throws a leg kick but Ostegren moved away. Some wild striking there from Ostegren.
Ostegren instigates a clinch. Sosa tries to break free but Ostegren pushes him back against the cage. Ostegren breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ostegren closes the distance and lands a one-two. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Luh Sosa will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Luh Sosa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sosa throws a combination. Ostegren tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Sosa takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Ostegren shoots in for a double leg but Sosa sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Sosa looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Ostegren drives through with a takedown into guard. Sosa is looking to stand back up but Ostegren counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Sosa. Ostegren landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ostegren connects with a nice short shot to Sosa's temple.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sosa is looking to escape. Ostegren working Sosa over with strikes. Ostegren has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Ostegren working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Sosa tries to kick Ostegren off but Ostegren keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Ostegren lands a nice short elbow. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Ground and pound from Ostegren.
Sosa is rocked! Sosa wants to get back to his feet.

Sosa seems to have recovered his senses. Ostegren looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Ostegren drops an elbow to the side of Sosa's head. Ground and pound from Ostegren. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ostegren is nestled in close to Sosa, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Ostegren lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Sosa! More strikes land and this one is all over! Ostegren jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
