Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Theodor Eicke! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dog Hunter! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Hirohito Nitta and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hunter swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hunter swings for the body but Eicke moves out of range.
Hunter misses with a jab, cross combination.
Hunter swings for the body but Eicke moves out of range.
A left and a right from Hunter both land. Nice combination.
It looks like Theodor Eicke has been cut. A combination from Hunter does no damage. Eicke scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Eicke is looking for a kimura here.
Eicke controlling the action here. Eicke is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hunter doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Eicke. Eicke seems to be looking for submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Eicke seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hunter does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Eicke seems to be working for a kimura but Hunter defends the submission attempt. Hunter is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Eicke pulls his head out easily. Eicke is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hunter defends it well. Eicke wants to pass to mount but Hunter is defending the position. Eicke works his way into side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Eicke is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hunter has escaped the position, nice work there. Eicke is breathing heavily. Eicke working away. Hunter gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Hunter is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Hunter looking for submissions off his back. Eicke content to control rather than advance. Hunter tries to get to full guard but Eicke has control of the leg.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Eicke moves into full mount! Hunter won't be happy about that! Hunter stops Eicke from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. Eicke wants to control the pace but Hunter is squirming around nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Eicke looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Poor strikes thrown by Eicke there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Hunter really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Eicke. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Eicke is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Hunter is surviving well by controlling Eicke's body position as best he can. Eicke goes for an armbar but Hunter turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Hunter. Eicke bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hunter's guard. Hunter is looking to sinch up a triangle. Eicke throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Hunter's body to avoid the submission. Hunter has instead reached around Eicke's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Hunter arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Dog Hunter!
