Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sitish Negi!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, John Roberts and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gardner shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Negi napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Negi wants to get back to his feet.
Gardner in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Gardner is looking to take a break and control but Negi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Negi pushes Gardner away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Gardner gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Gardner decides to stand back up. Gardner steps back and let's Negi get back to his feet.
Gardner closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Negi quickly recovers to half guard.
Negi kicks off Gardner and gets to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Negi shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Negi was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Negi has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Gardner really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Gardner scores with a takedown into Negi's guard.
Negi scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Gardner shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Negi's guard.
Gardner throws an elbow that misses. Negi uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Gardner's guard. Nice move by Negi!
Negi gets to his feet. Gardner looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Gardner scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Negi has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Gardner is on him like a limpet, forcing Negi back against the cage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Negi wants the takedown. Gardner is fighting it off but Negi persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Gardner's guard against the cage.
Negi working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Gardner's head.

Gardner utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Negi in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Negi decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Gardner feints and as Negi raises his hands in defense, Gardner changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Negi manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Gardner gets the takedown into side control.

Negi is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Gardner is controlling him well.

Negi wants to get back to his feet but Gardner drags him back down.
Negi tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Gardner decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Gardner gets the takedown into side control.
Negi throws Gardner to one side and escapes!
Negi shoots in for a double leg but Gardner sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Gardner tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Negi manages to circle out of the way.

Gardner throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Negi looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Gardner.
Gardner stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Blake Gardner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Negi bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Negi avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Sitish Negi has got the better of the ground game so far.
Negi is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gardner stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Negi has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Gardner manages to get his head free but now Negi has transitioned to an armbar! Gardner grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Negi! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
