PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kahwaah Jeeri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jin Mishima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mishima has chosen All I Do Is Win as his entrance music. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kahwaah Jeeri!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jin Mishima!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Hirohito Nitta and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jeeri fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Mishima on the side of the head.
A punch combination from Jeeri misses.
Jeeri misses with a hook. Mishima ducked under it nicely.
Mishima feints the counter takedown.
Jeeri throws the left hand but Mishima avoids the punch easily.
Jeeri cracks Mishima with a good jab.

Jeeri rushes Mishima and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Mishima tries to pull guard but Jeeri forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Mishima manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Jeeri sitting in guard here, content to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jeeri trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Mishima looking for a guillotine here but Jeeri defends easily.
Jeeri has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Mishima is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Jeeri sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mishima's guard.
Jeeri works his way into full mount!
Jeeri trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Jeeri moves to the back.
Mishima is really stuck here.

I really don't envy Mishima right now.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Jeeri has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Mishima's body.

Jeeri is persistently looking for the submission but Mishima is defending it well.

Jeeri looking to break Mishima's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Mishima remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Jeeri will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Jeeri slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Mishima tries to break free.
Jeeri just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Jeeri controlling well, preventing Mishima from escaping the position.
Jeeri really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Mishima.

Jeeri is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Mishima knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Mishima for a finish.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mishima tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Jeeri looking to control but Mishima is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jeeri sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Mishima gets back to half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jeeri throws a jab but it's blocked by Mishima.
Jeeri tries to clinch up but Mishima circles away and keeps his distance.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Jeeri pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jeeri lands a head kick!
Jeeri fails with an attempt to clinch.
And Mishima tries to counter it with a takedown but Jeeri pushes his down on his head and steps out.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kahwaah Jeeri dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Mishima tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jeeri swivels and escapes.
Mishima takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Mishima uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Jeeri.
Mishima tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Jeeri throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Kahwaah Jeeri seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jeeri rushes Mishima and presses him up against the cage.
Mishima tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jeeri smiles and moves away.
Jeeri throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We've been told by Jeeri's head coaches at Tōshi that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Jeeri connects with a right hand. Mishima shakes it off.
Jeeri throws a quick inside leg kick.
Jeeri looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jeeri pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
A good leg kick by Jeeri.
Jeeri wants to land a leg kick but Mishima is out of range.
Mishima walks into a left hand.
Jab from Jeeri.

Mishima bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Jeeri bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Jeeri throws a sloppy head kick and Mishima moves out of range easily.
Mishima changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Jeeri thuds his right hand into Mishima's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jeeri scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.


Mishima is rocked!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jeeri cracks Mishima with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Mishima tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Jeeri pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Mishima is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:07 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kahwaah Jeeri!
An out of breath and clearly excited Kahwaah Jeeri thanked V-Mask Clothing (10%) for their help and support (and free stuff they sent him).
