The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Royce stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Royce wants it to stay on the feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nogueira has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Royce is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Nogueira has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Nogueira is trying to drag Royce to the mat but Royce just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
