Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Boyd Mcgowan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roberto El Condor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roberto El Condor told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Boyd Mcgowan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Roberto El Condor! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Saam Ante and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fight moves into the clinch position. El Condor escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
El Condor closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mcgowan to the mat! Mcgowan manages to get full guard. Mcgowan looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Mcgowan keeping moving, preventing El Condor from controlling successfully. El Condor lands a couple of decent looking shots. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. El Condor wants to stand but Mcgowan has a closed guard, so he can't escape. El Condor wants to stand and escape but instead Mcgowan has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Mcgowan landing some decent shots from guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

El Condor looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. El Condor is looking to stand up but Mcgowan isn't so interested in that idea. El Condor is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Mcgowan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. El Condor avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Mcgowan missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. El Condor working a defensive guard here.
Mcgowan chips away with some ground and pound. Mcgowan slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Mcgowan throws a big elbow that misses.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. El Condor shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Mcgowan defends it nicely. Mcgowan lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mcgowan has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by El Condor. El Condor shoots for a double leg takedown but Mcgowan sprawls well. He's pushed El Condor's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. It looked like Mcgowan wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. and El Condor counters with a series of strikes. Mcgowan will be more careful next time no doubt. El Condor darts in looking for a takedown but Mcgowan gets double underhooks and turns El Condor into the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. El Condor misses with the body kick and Mcgowan counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. El Condor shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mcgowan but Mcgowan pushes him off and we're back to square one. Mcgowan is looking for a counter combo. El Condor looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Mcgowan moves into the clinch successfully.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. El Condor tries to pull guard but Mcgowan forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Mcgowan decides to pull guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mcgowan has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but El Condor can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Boyd Mcgowan dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
El Condor lands a glancing blow to the side of Mcgowan's head. Roberto El Condor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. El Condor fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mcgowan avoids it really well and circles away. El Condor misses with a head kick.

El Condor shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Mcgowan but Mcgowan pushes him off and we're back to square one. Mcgowan is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by El Condor. El Condor throws a counter combo.

Mcgowan moves in looking to clinch but El Condor pushes him off. Mcgowan instigates a clinch. El Condor is looking for a takedown. Boyd Mcgowan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roberto El Condor. Mcgowan wants to take the fight to the mat but El Condor manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Mcgowan has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. Mcgowan effectively controlling the action here. Mcgowan has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by El Condor after a bit of a struggle. The referee calls for Mcgowan to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Mcgowan thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. El Condor controls the pace of the fight for a moment. El Condor wants to pass the guard but Mcgowan is keeping the position. El Condor would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. El Condor looking to sit in guard and control but Mcgowan gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Mcgowan makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mcgowan being controlled here momentarily. Mcgowan slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Mcgowan could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Mcgowan avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Mcgowan controls from within his opponent's guard. Boyd Mcgowan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. El Condor bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mcgowan's guard.
Mcgowan working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. El Condor doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Mcgowan is tightening it up a little... El Condor has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! El Condor reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! El Condor taps out! Nice BJJ there by Mcgowan!
