Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jon Paul Fish (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Great Cornholio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cornholio is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Du Hast by Ramstein - Cornholio Mix. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
21 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Paul Fish! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Great Cornholio! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Gwen Towbar and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cornholio tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fish swats him away and circles back towards the center. Fish with a jab.
It looks like Great Cornholio has been cut. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Fish. Cornholio has a takedown stuffed. Cornholio walks forward, straight into a front kick from Fish. Cornholio throws a head kick that misses and Fish moves into the clinch. Cornholio letting Fish take a breather here. Fish putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Cornholio in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A right hook to the body lands for Fish.
Fish lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Fish tries to land knees in the clinch but Cornholio avoids the damage to the body. Cornholio tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Fish avoids it.

Cornholio avoids a wild elbow strike from Fish. Fish takes an elbow to the temple. Still in the clinch, Fish scores with a nice short uppercut.
That has opened up Great Cornholio's cut even more. Fish blocks a body shot from Cornholio. Cornholio misses with a punch on the inside.

Cornholio wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Fish pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Fish tries for a takedown. No joy.

Fish tightens his grip and picks Cornholio up, before dumping him to the ground. Cornholio manages to land in guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Fish working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Cornholio trying to control the position.
Cornholio is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Fish is stalling in the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fish trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Fish looking to sit in guard and control but Cornholio gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Cornholio won't allow Fish to sweep him here. Cornholio trying to control but Fish is working from the bottom.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Fish scores with a nice strike. Jon Paul Fish is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Cornholio tries to clinch up but Fish circles away and keeps his distance. Fish throwing a counter right hand but Cornholio manages to avoid it. Jon Paul Fish seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fish works the jab nicely. Fish lands a right hook to the body.
Fish is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Fish throws a one two combo.
Fish keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Jon Paul Fish has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Great Cornholio. Fish lands a jab. Fish has Cornholio up against the cage in a clinch.

Fish's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Cornholio looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Cornholio. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cornholio tries to stall but Fish uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Jon Paul Fish has scored more points in the clinch so far. Fish blocks an elbow strike. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. The referee calls for Cornholio to work.

The cut above Great Cornholio's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Cornholio tries to stall but Fish uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jon Paul Fish. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fish has picked Cornholio up - he's going for a ride! Fish dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Fish moves into full mount! Cornholio won't be happy about that! Fish is landing with some decent strikes but Cornholio is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Great Cornholio's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
