Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cousteau tries to land a leg kick but Watson saw it coming and moves away.
Cousteau throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Watson moves into the clinch. Watson tries to stall but Cousteau uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Cousteau lands with a right hand. Cousteau throws a combination. Watson tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
It looks like Thomas Watson has been cut. Cousteau misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Watson.
Watson avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Watson drops down looking for a counter takedown but Cousteau sprawls and moves away. Watson gets a clinch. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Cousteau is trying to maintain the position but Watson is very close to passing his half guard. Watson wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Watson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Cousteau. Cousteau misses with a low kick. You can see the frustration on Cousteau's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cousteau accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Watson is on top in guard.
Watson gets to his feet. Cousteau looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Watson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Cousteau manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Cousteau had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Watson defends it easily. Watson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Cousteau, up you get! Cousteau throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Watson on the side of the head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Cousteau misses with a takedown attempt and Watson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Watson blocks a head kick by Cousteau.
Cousteau tries to sprawl but Watson drives through with a takedown into half guard. Cousteau is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Watson looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Watson takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cousteau is looking to get back to full guard here but Watson has managed to pass to side control instead. Watson happy to just control the position for now. Cousteau is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Watson lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Cousteau down.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Cousteau looking for a sweep but Watson has passed into full mount! Oh no! Thomas Watson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Watson manages to capitalize on a mistake by Cousteau to take his back! Watson lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

Cousteau fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Watson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cousteau is looking for a sweep. Cousteau is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Watson's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Watson stands up and beckons Cousteau to join him on the feet. Watson with a flurry of punches that miss. Watson stands up over Cousteau, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Watson wants to pass the guard but Cousteau is keeping the position. Watson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Cousteau can do to turn this around? Cousteau is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Watson frees his head nicely. Oh but Cousteau has switched to an armbar! Watson is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Jacques Cousteau was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
