The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pafuti fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Barbado, pushing him back against the cage.
Pafuti slowing the pace effectively.
Barbado is working for takedown but Pafuti is calmly controlling the position for now.
Barbado tries to circle away but Pafuti has him pinned against the cage.
Pafuti ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Pafuti no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Pafuti jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Barbado walks away with a smile on his face. Pafuti gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pafuti can do anything to dispel that myth.

Barbado is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Pafuti is surviving well by controlling Barbado's body position as best he can.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Barbado is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Pafuti can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Barbado shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Pafuti manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
It looks like Barika Pafuti has been cut.
Barbado postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Pafuti looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Barbado puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Pafuti really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barbado. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Barbado connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Pafuti to escape the position.
Barbado looking for the choke but no joy.
Pafuti is trying to control his opponent's hands. Eventually Barbado gets his hands free and sinks in a rear naked choke. For a while it looks like Pafuti is going to survive but after struggling valiantly, he eventually has to tap out! Barbado is your winner!
