Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lane Perry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Al Pacino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pacino has chosen Oyo Como Va as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Al Pacino was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lane Perry! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Al Pacino! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Perry drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Pacino darts in and clinches Perry up against the cage. Pacino is trying to break free. Perry turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Perry manages to end up in side control. Pacino sneaks out the side door and pushes Perry away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Perry could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Pacino shoots in for a takedown and gets it. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Pacino is thwarting Perry's attempts to control the position. Pacino is figuring out what he wants to do next. Perry is looking to control Pacino's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Perry avoid being mounted? Pacino performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Perry is trying to maintain the position but Pacino is very close to passing his half guard. Perry might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Pacino not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Pacino is thwarting Perry's attempts to control the position. Perry makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Perry. Perry keeping full guard, as Pacino tries to pass. Pacino won't allow Perry to sweep him here. Pacino must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Pacino stands up from Perry's guard - Pacino perhaps looking for a knockout. Perry tries for a takedown but Pacino circles away easily and Pacino holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Perry is working for takedown but Pacino is calmly controlling the position for now. Perry has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Pacino avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lane Perry. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pacino is pressed up against the cage. Perry has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Pacino down to the mat. Pacino avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Pacino misses with a jab, cross combination.
Pacino throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Perry stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Al Pacino seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Perry is breathing heavily. Pacino connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Pacino dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Pacino looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pacino wants to free his trapped foot but Perry is holding on for dear life with his legs. Pacino is figuring out what he wants to do next. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Pacino sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Perry defending well though. Pacino controlling the pace. Pacino not landing any meaningful shots this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Pacino slows the pace down in half guard. Perry is looking to improve his position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. A momentary lapse in concentration from Perry enables Pacino to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Perry manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Al Pacino dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Pacino closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Perry is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Pacino gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Perry jumps guard but Pacino stands there with Perry around his waist. Perry gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Perry tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pacino paws at him with a jab and circles away. Pacino looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Pacino circles away from the clinch attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pacino closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Pacino lands in his opponent's guard. Pacino controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Perry looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Perry can't keep his opponent in guard - Pacino advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Perry wants to control but Pacino is keeping busy and won't allow it. Perry keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Still in half guard, Pacino seems content to control. Pacino is continuing to stall.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Pacino seems to be looking for submissions.
Perry is trying to control but can't.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Pacino is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Perry is looking for a sweep. Pacino is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Pacino content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Pacino wants to take a breather but Perry is having none of it. Perry is defending against the submission attempts here by Pacino.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Perry is trying to get back to full guard. Pacino frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Perry is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Pacino stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Pacino has closed the distance and engaged Perry in a clinch.

Al Pacino showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Perry's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!
Pacino looks for the body kick but Perry saw that one coming. Pacino bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Al Pacino has got the better of the ground game so far. Perry avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Pacino. Pacino slows the pace down. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Perry is looking for a sweep. Perry seems a little lost for a moment, as Pacino dominates the positioning. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Perry is looking to regain half guard here but Pacino keeps moving and retains side control. Pacino tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

He's bucked Pacino off and has taken his back! Perry patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Perry punishes Pacino with strikes from the back mount. Perry is looking for the choke from the back position but Pacino is controlling his hands well. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Pacino is trying to break free.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Perry looking for the RNC. Pacino is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Pacino tries to roll but Perry sticks to his back.
Despite being in a bad position, Pacino is controlling the hands, preventing any submission attempts. Perry has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Pacino showing good submission defense here.

He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Perry's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Pacino. Pacino is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Pacino passes easily into side control. Nice work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pacino controls the position from side control. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Pacino. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Perry prevents Pacino from moving into mount. Perry tries to improve position but can't. Pacino staying calm. Perry manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Al Pacino. Well Pacino has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
