Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chris Beattie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Deangelo Sturtsil!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Steve Erwin and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sturtsil dives in and grabs Beattie's left leg, looking for a takedown. Beattie pushes down on Sturtsil's head and hops out.
Sturtsil shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Beattie but Beattie pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Beattie throws a leg kick which misses Sturtsil's front leg but catches the back leg as Sturtsil tries to avoid it.
Sturtsil has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Beattie.

Sturtsil looking to score a takedown here. Beattie is defending well but Sturtsil drives through and ends up in Beattie's guard.

Our spies down at at The Shield inform us that Sturtsil has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Horrible takedown attempt by Sturtsil or perhaps it was just good defense by Beattie, which made it look bad.
Beattie fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Sturtsil has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Sturtsil tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Beattie defends well and Sturtsil ends up having to push Beattie into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Sturtsil shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Beattie pinned against the cage. Beattie gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
