The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shepherd tries to clinch there but Menezes circles away.
Menezes throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Menezes fails to land the takedown.
Junior Menezes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shepherd clinches up with Menezes and pushes him back against the cage.

Menezes closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Menezes lands in his opponent's guard.
Shepherd is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Menezes rolls with it to try and escape but Shepherd cranks on the arm and Menezes is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
