Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Fred Simmons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sven Tveskabb (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Simmons comes to the cage accompanied by Dog Wild Heaven. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fred Simmons! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sven Tveskabb! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Simmons shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Tveskabb as he avoids it easily. A nice side step and Tveskabb releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Nice jab there from Tveskabb. Simmons shoots in for a takedown but Tveskabb shows good takedown defense. Simmons shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Tveskabb counters with a nice uppercut. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fred Simmons. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tveskabb connects with a right hand. Simmons shakes it off. Tveskabb throws a right and a left that Simmons avoids nicely. Simmons steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Tveskabb. Simmons tries for a takedown but Tveskabb sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Simmons closes this distance looking for a takedown but Tveskabb circles away. Tveskabb swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Tveskabb listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Tveskabb connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Simmons momentarily.
Simmons definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
That's one minute gone in the round. A punch combination from Tveskabb misses. Tveskabb throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Tveskabb jabbing away but nothing is landing. Tveskabb connects with a looping right hand.
Simmons fails to land the takedown. A little jabbing left from Tveskabb on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Simmons fails to land the takedown. The fighters circling - Tveskabb throws out the jab but it was never going to land. A jab lands there for Tveskabb. Simmons fails with the takedown and Simmons takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Tveskabb has worked on his takedown defense in the runup to this fight and it is paying off so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tveskabb dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Tveskabb swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. A telegraphed right hand from Tveskabb misses the target. Simmons has a takedown stuffed. Tveskabb is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Simmons had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Tveskabb misses with an uppercut. Simmons feinted with a counter takedown. Simmons needs to keep his hands up - Tveskabb had a free shot at his head there.
Simmons is rocked! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Tveskabb throws a one two combo.
