Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Joe Ruden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lambo Gallardo!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Fedor Mirinova and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gallardo falls off balance throwing a combination
and Ruden counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Gallardo moves into the clinch.
Gallardo tries to work over Ruden's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Gallardo can't find room to land a body shot as Ruden controls the action.
Ruden tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Gallardo's elbow.
Ruden has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Ruden pushes Gallardo back against the ropes and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Gallardo misses with an elbow over the top.
Ruden misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Ruden lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Gallardo tries a body shot but Ruden blocks it.
Gallardo goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gallardo misses with a hook from the clinch.

Ruden lands with a light punch inside.
Gallardo misses with an elbow over the top.

Gallardo misses with a hook to the ribs.
Gallardo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Ruden throws the left hand but Gallardo avoids the punch easily.
Gallardo is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Ruden walks into a left hand.
Nice uppercut lands for Ruden. That snapped Gallardo's head back.
A jab from Gallardo finds it's way through Ruden's defenses.
Ruden moves into range and connects with a jab.
Gallardo bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Ruden's head.
It looks like Joe Ruden has been cut.
Ruden pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Ruden has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Ruden tries a low kick but Gallardo avoids it.
Gallardo throws out a counter right but Ruden avoids it with no problem.
Ruden throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Lambo Gallardo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ruden throws a wild body kick that Gallardo sees coming a mile off.
Gallardo is looking for the big counter here.
Ruden throws a right hand that misses
and Gallardo counters with a left and a right that stings Ruden.
Gallardo lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Ruden goes down and covers up as Gallardo starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lambo Gallardo!
A determined Lambo Gallardo didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
