The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nahas moves into the clinch. Nahas is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Fitzpatrick can't fight it off and eventually Nahas manages to take the fight to the floor. Fitzpatrick looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nahas in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Fitzpatrick looking to sweep here. Nahas is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Fitzpatrick has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Nahas is looking to defend but Fitzpatrick has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Nahas! Fitzpatrick pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Nahas taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Mike Fitzpatrick! Mike Fitzpatrick spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant. The defeated Rabihia Nahas had this to say: 'well I guess I lost then?'.
