Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Danny Charles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Klay Montez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Charles comes into the arena with Have Heart - Armed With A Mind blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Danny Charles! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Klay Montez! The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, David Hoff and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Montez throws a right hand that misses
and Charles counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Montez swinging wildly here.
Montez shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Montez has Charles up against the cage in a clinch.
Montez makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Charles escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Montez takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Montez misses the shot to the body. Montez shoots for a takedown but Charles saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Montez looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
That's one minute gone in the round. A punch combination from Montez misses. It looked like Charles was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Montez. Montez with a poor takedown and Charles counters with a nice body shot. Danny Charles has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Klay Montez. Charles avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Montez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Charles tries to avoid it but Montez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Charles to the ground. Charles escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Montez shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Charles defends it nicely. Montez tries to clinch but fails miserably and Charles counters with a right hand to the body. Montez throws a sloppy head kick and Charles moves out of range easily. Montez swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Montez tries to clinch but fails miserably and Charles makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Montez shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Charles as he jumps to the side. Montez closes this distance looking for a takedown but Charles circles away. Charles throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Montez stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Charles slaps away a takedown attempt from Montez, before circling back to the center of the mat. A shot to the body from Montez misses and Charles counters with a straight right hand. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Montez tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Charles swivels and escapes. Montez moves forwards but Charles connects with a nice, crisp jab.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Charles scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Charles closes the distance and pushes Montez back into the cage. Montez tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Charles smiles and moves away.

A cross from Charles lands. Montez is looking to take this fight into the clinch. It looked like Charles wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Montez shoots and misses and Charles counters with a nice uppercut.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Montez dives in for a single leg takedown but Charles sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Montez takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Montez tries for a takedown but Charles circles away easily and Charles counters with a stiff right hand. Montez misses with a takedown attempt and Montez takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Montez tries to clinch and Charles makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Montez takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. No joy there for Montez, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Montez attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. A counter left hand to the body from Charles misses its target. Charles clinches up against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Danny Charles dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Montez looks to clinch letting Charles counter with a right hand. Montez wants to clinch but Charles slips to the side and Charles cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Charles moves out of range of the strikes. Danny Charles is winning the standup battle so far. Montez fails with the takedown and Charles counters with a nice uppercut. Montez moves into the clinch. Montez wants to break free but Charles has control.

That's one minute gone in the round. Montez taking a breather. Montez is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Charles is defending well for now. Montez lands with a short head shot on the inside. Montez escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Montez rushes Charles and presses him up against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Montez is trying to pull guard but Charles has him pressed against the cage. Montez has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Charles is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Danny Charles has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Klay Montez. Montez has a couple of punches blocked by Charles.
Montez's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Montez tries to clinch there but Charles circles away.
A quick step to the side and Charles tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Klay Montez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Montez forces Charles back against the cage and clinches. Charles breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Montez attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Charles is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Montez can do to turn this around? Charles forces Montez back against the cage and clinches. A bit of stalling here from Montez.
Charles gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Charles postures up.
Charles has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Montez throws his legs up looking for a submission but Charles uses it to pass to side control.
Montez takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Charles is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Montez's shoulder. That is not cool. Charles stands up and beckons Montez to his feet. Montez fails with an attempt to clinch.
Montez keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Montez dives in for a single leg takedown but Charles sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Montez shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Charles counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Montez tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Charles manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Danny Charles dominated that second round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Montez shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Charles cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Montez takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Charles drives through and clinches with Montez against the cage.
Charles tries to pull guard but Montez forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Charles gets a trip takedown into half guard. Montez makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work! Montez fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Charles to the ground. Montez is now in Charles's guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Charles controlling Montez's posture.
That's one minute gone in the round. Charles is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Charles has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Montez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Charles looking to control.
Montez is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Charles has an active guard here but Montez has managed to pass into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Charles is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Montez pulls his head out easily. Charles keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Charles shoots for a double leg takedown but Montez sprawls well. He's pushed Charles's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Charles staying out of range there. Montez tries for a takedown but Charles circles away easily and Charles counters with a left to the body. Danny Charles has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Klay Montez.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Montez pushes Charles up against the cage in a clinch. Montez jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Charles walks away with a smile on his face. Montez gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Montez circles away from the clinch attempt.
Charles thuds a left hand into Montez's body. Montez moves into range and clinches up with Charles. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Charles breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Montez tries to clinch but fails miserably enabling Charles to counter with a crisp jab. Montez looks to clinch and Montez takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Montez wants to clinch. Montez wants to clinch but Charles slips to the side and Charles counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Charles gets caught flat footed, as Montez shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Charles scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Charles moves into the clinch successfully.
And that's the end of the fight! Danny Charles showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Charles, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
