Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Slower Poke! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Slow Poke! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Steve Montenegro and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling eachother endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive. Slower Poke misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Slow Poke feints the counter takedown. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Slow Poke scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
That's one minute gone in the round. Slower Poke is looking for a sweep. Slow Poke in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Slow Poke working the ground and pound. Slower Poke looks to move to half guard but instead Slow Poke has passed into mount! Damn! Slow Poke unloading with bombs! Slow Poke cracks Slower Poke with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Slower Poke manages to regain half guard. Good work. Slow Poke wants to take a breather but Slower Poke is having none of it. Slower Poke taking some punishment here, with Slow Poke in his half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Slow Poke thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Slower Poke knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Slow Poke on the ground. Slow Poke is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Slow Poke throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Slower Poke on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Slower Poke tries to get out of the position. Slower Poke tries to roll over but Slow Poke keeps him under control. Slow Poke is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Slower Poke throws a sloppy strike from the bottom. He's now off balance and Slow Poke manages to pass to side control. Slow Poke wants to control but Slower Poke is keeping him busy. Slower Poke is looking for a sweep. Slower Poke is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Slow Poke has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Slower Poke is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Slow Poke yanks on the arm and Slower Poke is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Slow Poke.
