Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fritz Griffin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladimir Petrakov!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Dmitry Maklakov and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffin tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Petrakov lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Petrakov looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Petrakov shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Griffin napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Griffin has one of Petrakov's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage.
Petrakov is trying to ground and pound but Griffin uses the momentary lack of control by Petrakov to regain half guard.
Griffin landing small, sideways elbows.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Griffin actively working from the bottom here.
Griffin is pressing down on Petrakov's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Griffin is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Griffin trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Griffin is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Griffin has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Petrakov has Griffin up against the cage in a clinch.

Griffin manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Petrakov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Petrakov avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Griffin has his feet on Petrakov's thighs here. He's pushed Petrakov off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Petrakov screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
