Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lucas Marston! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pascal Oaza! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Seu Braga and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sloppy strikes from Oaza. Those never looked like landing. Pascal Oaza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Oaza drives through and clinches with Marston against the cage.
Marston pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Marston uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Oaza. Marston fires out a quick counter leg kick but Oaza just manages to avoid it. Oaza swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Marston counters with a nice uppercut.
It looks like Pascal Oaza has been cut. Oaza gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Marston trying to stall but Oaza improves his position.
Oaza throws a punch but it's blocked by Marston. Marston escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Oaza moves into the clinch. Oaza tries to work over Marston's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Marston breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Oaza gets a clinch. Oaza trying to land knees to the body.
Marston wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Oaza looking to throw knees to the head but Marston is blocking nicely.
Marston lands on the inside with an uppercut. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Oaza tries a body shot but Marston blocks it.
Oaza is trying to force a seperation but Marston has the dominant position. Oaza has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Oaza working aggressively here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Oaza wants to get back to striking at distance but Marston won't allow it.
Oaza wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Marston has him pressed against the cage. Marston prevents Oaza from breaking the clinch. A frustrated look appears on Oaza's face as he tries to break the clinch. Marston tries to pull guard but Oaza holds him up against the cage and eventually Marston drops back down to his feet.
Marston prevents a body shot from Oaza. Marston lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Oaza backwards. Oaza wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Marston has him pressed against the cage. Marston misses with a punch to the body.

Marston looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Marston lands with a short punch from the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Marston scores with a jab. Oaza acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
That has opened up Pascal Oaza's cut even more. Oaza darts in and clinches Marston up against the cage. Oaza missing with knees to the body.
Marston jumps guard but Oaza turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Oaza looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Oaza is trying to break the clinch but Marston is controlling him. Oaza swings away with an uppercut that misses.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Marston throws a punch but it's blocked by Oaza. Oaza misses with a hook from the clinch. Oaza misses with a knee strike.
Oaza is trying to break the clinch but Marston has him pressed against the cage. Marston has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Marston has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Oaza is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lucas Marston. That's going to take a lot out of him. Oaza tries to circle away but Marston has him pinned against the cage. Oaza missing with knees to the body.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Oaza trying to control but Marston is working from the bottom. Oaza postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marston is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Marston has his foot on Oaza's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Oaza works his way back into a safe position though. Oaza preventing the sweep. Marston is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Oaza must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Oaza postures up in Marston's guard and throws a big left but Marston blocks it. Marston had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Oaza defends it easily. Marston might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Oaza would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Marston is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Oaza really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Marston. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Marston trying to control the action but Oaza is working from the bottom. Oaza wants to control but Marston is keeping busy.
Marston performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Oaza is in trouble now - Marston has advanced to mount! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Lucas Marston will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Pascal Oaza's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Oaza tries to stand but Marston is controlling from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Oaza won't allow Marston to sweep him here. Marston bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Oaza's guard. Oaza looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Marston puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Oaza wants to stand back up but Marston manages to pass into side control.
Marston stands up. Oaza lands with a thumping leg kick.
Oaza closes the distance and pushes Marston back into the cage. Oaza tries to circle away but Marston has him pinned against the cage. A short right hand to the side of the head by Marston.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Marston dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Marston lands a takedown into guard.
Marston is looking to work some ground and pound but Oaza has wrist control. Oaza wants to stand up but Marston is controlling him. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Marston works a leg free and moves into half guard. Marston looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Oaza wants to get back to his feet. Marston content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Oaza avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Marston.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marston sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Oaza defending well though. Oaza is looking to improve his position.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Pascal Oaza is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Oooooh!!! Marston has knocked Oaza down with a huge combo! Marston steps away and waves a wobbly Oaza back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Oaza is rocked! Oaza gets in close and instigates a clinch. Oaza is still on wobbly legs! Can Marston finish him? Marston tries to score a body lock takedown but Oaza shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Oaza wants to break the clinch but can't.
Oaza seems to have recovered his senses. Oaza tries to circle away but Marston has him pinned against the cage. Marston is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Marston is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Oaza can do to turn this around? A frustrated look appears on Marston's face as he tries to break the clinch. Oaza connects with a knee to the head.
Marston breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Oaza moves out of range of the strikes. Oaza gets a clinch. Oaza misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Marston.

Pascal Oaza's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. Oaza wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors. Pascal Oaza seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lucas Marston. That's going to take a lot out of him. Marston taking a breather. Marston manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Oaza trying to control the position from guard on top but Marston is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Oaza is looking to advance position but Marston has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Marston thowing shots but they're missing. Marston controlling from mount. Poor strikes thrown by Marston there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

That's two minutes gone in the round. Oaza is squirming around, avoiding Marston's attempts to control the action. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Oaza can do anything to dispel that myth. Marston with shots to the head and body - Oaza looks very uncomfortable down there.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Pascal Oaza's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
