Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jiri Necas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Wincent Montag! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Emerson Jorge and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Necas throws a head kick that misses. Necas shoots for a double leg takedown but Montag sprawls well. He's pushed Necas's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Montag wants to counter with a clinch but Necas pushes him away. Montag closes the distance and clinches. A shot in the inside from Montag. Necas drops down looking for an ankle pick but Montag pulls his leg out and moves away.
Necas could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Necas shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Montag as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jiri Necas. That's going to take a lot out of him. Montag fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Montag instigates a clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Still in the clinch, Montag scores with a nice short uppercut. Montag drags the fight down to the ground.
Montag looking to hit a scissor sweep but Necas is one step ahead there. Necas wants to stand and escape but instead Montag has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Necas pulls Montag in to control the position. Montag trying to stand up but can't free himself from Necas's guard. Necas on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Necas tries to get out of the position. Necas looking for a sweep. Not yet Necas, not yet. Necas keeping moving, preventing Montag from controlling successfully. Montag preventing the sweep. Montag stands up from guard. Let's bang! Montag takes the fight into the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Necas tries for a takedown but Montag manages to get underhooks.
Montag is struggling to control the position. Montag prevents Necas from breaking the clinch. Necas holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Necas breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Necas looks to land a combination but Montag avoids it well. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Necas is defended easily by Montag. Montag rushes Necas and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Necas wants to break free but Montag has control.
Montag manages to break the clinch.
Montag throws out a powerful jab. No luck with that takedown attempt from Montag. Necas wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Montag takes the fight into the clinch. Necas goes for a takedown in the clinch but Montag prevents it.
Montag keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Necas's efforts to push away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Montag manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Montag shoots in for a takedown but Necas shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Necas darts in and clinches Montag up against the cage. Montag escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Necas fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Montag avoids it really well and circles away. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Montag misses with a head kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Wincent Montag dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Montag wants to clinch. Montag shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Necas's guard. Necas is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Necas is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Montag is controlling him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Montag sitting in guard, not really doing much. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Montag is looking to stand up but Necas won't let him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Montag trying to control but Necas is working from the bottom. Montag stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Necas swivels though and keeps the full guard. Necas wants to get back to his feet but Montag is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Necas keeping moving, preventing Montag from controlling successfully.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Necas shoots in and drives through. Montag sprawls well. Necas defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Montag.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Montag changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Necas tries to avoid it but Montag manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Necas to the ground. Necas escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Montag works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Necas looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Montag keeping moving, preventing Necas from controlling successfully. Montag controls Necas momentarily but Necas frees himself. Necas being controlled here momentarily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Montag throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Montag looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Montag has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Necas wants to control from the top but Montag keeps moving. Necas slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Montag throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Necas's jab looks to have found its range, popping Montag under the eye. Wincent Montag seems to be getting the better of the standup.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Necas closes the distance and clinches up with Montag, looking for a takedown. Necas pushes Montag against the cage but Montag circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Necas tries to clinch but Montag moves out of range. Montag misses with a leg kick and Necas counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Montag wants to stand up but Necas is controlling him. Montag is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Necas is aware though and is defending well. Necas throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Montag works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Montag is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Necas wants to control from the top but Montag keeps moving. Necas wants to pass the guard but Montag is keeping the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Jiri Necas will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!

Necas trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Montag is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Montag closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Necas's guard. Montag trying to control the position from guard on top but Necas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Montag sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Necas's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Necas is looking to control Montag's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Necas avoid being mounted? Montag is looking to take a break and control but Necas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Montag is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Necas doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Montag. Montag is nestled in close to Necas, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Montag is keen to just control but Necas is a slippery customer. The fighters are battling for position here. Necas manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Montag clinches up with Necas and pushes him back against the cage. Necas tries to pull guard but Montag won't allow it.

Necas decides to pull guard. Montag is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Montag prevents Necas from getting back to his feet.

Montag is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Montag looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Montag keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Necas catches Montag with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Montag clinches with his opponent.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Wincent Montag. I think Montag has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
