Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brodie Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ratko Malich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Williams comes to the cage accompanied by Back To Back. Malich comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Behemoth - O Father O Satan O Sun kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Brodie Williams has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ratko Malich! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Illya Tyunina and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Williams gets in close and instigates a clinch. Malich tries for a takedown. No joy.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Malich is trying to drag Williams to the mat but Williams just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Malich wants a takedown.

Malich shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Williams but Williams pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Williams throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Malich feints the counter takedown. Williams moves into the clinch. Malich is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Williams is defending well. Williams has Malich pressed against the cage.

I was talking to Williams's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Williams stops a takedown attempt from Malich.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brodie Williams dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Williams fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Malich on the side of the head. Malich avoids a kick to the body.

Malich is fighting it off but Williams persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Malich's guard against the cage. Malich wants to sweep but no luck. That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Williams throws a strike but Malich rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Malich shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Williams but Williams pushes him off and we're back to square one. Williams decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Malich is trying to stand back up but Williams is controlling him

That's three minutes gone in the round. Malich wants to control but Williams is keeping busy and won't allow it. Williams content to control rather than advance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Malich is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Williams's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Williams's back! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Malich has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Williams is in real trouble here. Malich gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Williams is tapping out! Malich wins by rear naked choke!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Ratko Malich! Ratko Malich was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed. The defeated Brodie Williams had this to say: 'He was a good fighter every second of the match and im glad that he was good. and i wish him the best of luck with his career'.
