Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shinsuke Kushida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jistaro Swiggisimo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Jistaro Swiggisimo enters the cage!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Jonathan Paton and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kushida wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Swiggisimo manages to pass to side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Swiggisimo lands with a punch from half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kushida kicks Swiggisimo off and gets back to his feet.
Swiggisimo fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Kushida to the ground. Swiggisimo is now in Kushida's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Swiggisimo accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Swiggisimo cracks Kushida with a solid left hand.
Swiggisimo slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Swiggisimo is looking to pass into half guard but Kushida pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Kushida is in guard.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Swiggisimo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kushida keeps working.
Kushida is working to avoid the ground and pound but Swiggisimo connects with a decent elbow.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Swiggisimo lands a strong strike to the head of Kushida. That's dazed him! Swiggisimo looking to finish here. Kushida is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Swiggisimo lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
