Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chief Sperry! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sam Webb! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Reed Andrews and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sperry clinches. Webb looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Webb tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Sperry smiles and moves away.
A head kick misses from Webb. Sperry rushes Webb and presses him up against the cage. Sperry decides to pull guard. Webb prevents Sperry from getting back to his feet. Sperry thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Sperry has control of Webb's left arm, preventing Webb from doing any damage. Sperry is trying to control the position but Webb postures up. Sperry keeping moving, preventing Webb from controlling successfully. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sperry wants to sweep here but Webb controlling him for the moment. Sperry wants to stand and escape but Webb is having none of it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Sperry scores with a takedown into Webb's guard. Sperry landing some decent shots from guard. Sperry scoring with punches to the head and body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sperry distracts Webb with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Our spies down at at School of Hard Knocks inform us that Webb has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Sperry controlling from the top position. Sperry looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Sperry working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Webb's head. Sperry lands a couple of digs. Sperry landing some decent shots from guard. Sperry scores with a decent looking elbow strike. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sperry makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Sperry cracks Webb with a solid left hand. Sperry not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Webb can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Sperry controls the pace. Sperry lands a couple of decent looking shots. Sperry is in close to Webb's body, working some short punches and elbows. Sperry showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
