PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Boris Nedkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Enzo Ferrari (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Boris Nedkov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Enzo Ferrari!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Steve Montenegro and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Ferrari looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Ferrari gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Nedkov has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Ferrari is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Ferrari misses with a short punch on the inside.
Nedkov has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Ferrari after a bit of a struggle.
Nedkov tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Ferrari just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Boris Nedkov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nedkov wants a takedown but no success here.
Ferrari is pressed up against the cage. Nedkov has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Ferrari down to the mat. Ferrari avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Ferrari shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Ferrari was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Nedkov manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nedkov is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Ferrari tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Nedkov.
Nedkov has his hands clasped together around Ferrari's back. He's all about the action.
Ferrari really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nedkov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Nedkov missing with punches from the bottom.
Nedkov gets full guard.

Nedkov looking for a guillotine here but Ferrari defends easily.
Ferrari is looking to stand up but Nedkov won't let him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nedkov working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ferrari doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ferrari manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Nedkov has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Ferrari should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Nedkov has tightened it up now! Ferrari should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Boris Nedkov!
During a confident post fight interview, Boris Nedkov thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
