Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Velasco Franco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fox Mulder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fox Mulder is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Velasco Franco! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Fox Mulder! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mulder instigates a clinch. Franco has Mulder pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Mulder manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Mulder creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Franco's defenses. Mulder has a couple of punches blocked by Franco.
Mulder lands an elbow just above Franco 's eye. Mulder is defending well against a takedown attempt. Franco blocks an elbow strike. Franco blocks the elbow strike.
Nice elbow from Mulder. Franco is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Mulder to keep the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Velasco Franco. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mulder misses with an elbow over the top. Franco changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Mulder fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Mulder has Franco up against the cage in a clinch.
Mulder lands an elbow just above Franco 's eye.
It looks like Velasco Franco has been cut. Mulder pushes off an throws an elbow but Franco leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Franco fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Franco tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Mulder just stands there and leans against the cage. Mulder throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Franco blocks an elbow strike. Franco avoids a wild elbow strike from Mulder. A nice glancing elbow lands by Mulder. Franco blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Franco pulls guard effortlessly. Franco manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mulder manages to get himself to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Franco is standing up over Mulder. Mulder looks to escape but Franco dives into side control.
Mulder really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Franco. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Mulder is trying to get back to his feet. Franco working the body and head with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Franco moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Mulder tries to improve position but can't. Franco in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Mulder taking a bit of punishment here - Franco scoring with strikes. You can see the frustration on Mulder's face as Franco controls the position. Franco lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mulder can do anything to dispel that myth. Mulder is trying to buck Franco off. Franco is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mulder is looking to regain half guard here but Franco keeps moving and retains side control. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Franco moves into full mount! Franco content just to control the position here. Franco landing punches.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Franco controlling his opponent. Franco working Mulder over with strikes here. Franco looking to control and managing it successfully. Mulder reaches up to try and control the position but Franco seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Mulder rolls and tries to escape and now Franco has his back!
Franco is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Mulder with him. Mulder is trying to defend but Franco has an arm under the chin now! Mulder grimaces and is forced to tap out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Velasco Franco!
