The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Der Sluijs moves away from the strike by Pekka.
As Pekka backs off Van Der Sluijs throws a huge counter combo but Pekka manages to avoid it all.
Pekka swings for the body but Van Der Sluijs moves out of range.

Pekka throws an overhand right that lands on Van Der Sluijs's shoulder, as Van Der Sluijs tries to avoid the shot.
Pekka definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Pekka goes for a double leg but Van Der Sluijs avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Van Der Sluijs continues to drive forward.
Van Der Sluijs looks to land a combination but Pekka avoids it well.
Van Der Sluijs takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Van Der Sluijs is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Pekka dives into side control.
Van Der Sluijs really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pekka. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Pekka wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Van Der Sluijs, who protects the arm well.

Pekka seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Van Der Sluijs for as long as he can get away with.
