Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Matt Hughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ric Flores (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Flores comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Napalm & Erruption- In San Francisco kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Matt Hughes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ric Flores! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Flores swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hughes tries to move into range but Flores moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Flores misses with a series of wild punches.
A nice combination there by Flores.
Flores throws the left hand but Hughes avoids the punch easily. Hughes throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Flores sees it coming and avoids it easily. Flores with the counter takedown but Hughes avoids it easily. Ric Flores seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Flores swings for the body but Hughes moves out of range.
Flores has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Hughes is landing a low percentage of strikes. Flores lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Hughes checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Hughes lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sloppy strikes from Flores. Those never looked like landing. Hughes misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Flores moves into the clinch. Flores avoids the elbow strike from Hughes, against the cage.
Hughes wants to break the clinch but can't.
Flores is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hughes gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Hughes misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Flores has picked Hughes up - he's going for a ride! Flores dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Hughes wants to improve his position but Flores is controlling well.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Flores is looking to take a break and control but Hughes is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Flores lands with a punch from half guard. Flores perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Hughes won't allow Flores to pass to mount. Flores is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Hughes has managed to free his arm - good work. Hughes wants to improve his position but Flores is controlling well.
Flores is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hughes sees it coming and defends easily. Hughes tries to roll over but Flores keeps him under control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Flores is looking to take a break and control but Hughes is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Flores is pressing down on Hughes's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hughes is holding on for now. Hughes looking for submissions off his back. Hughes is trying to control but can't.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Flores scores with a three punch combo!
Flores shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Hughes is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Flores is trying to get back to full guard. Hughes wants to control but Flores is keeping him busy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Flores is trying to get back to full guard. Flores is not content to let Hughes control the position. Flores tries to get to full guard but Hughes has control of the leg. Hughes trying to control the action but Flores is working from the bottom. Hughes trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ric Flores dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Flores thows a left - swing and a miss! Hughes attempts a counter takedown but Flores avoids it well and moves away. Flores throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Flores throws a series of punches but Hughes moves out of range. Flores gets a double leg takedown into Hughes's guard. Flores pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Hughes is keeping the position for now. Flores makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Flores won't allow Hughes to sweep him here. Flores with a nice head shot there. Hughes is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Hughes looking for a sweep. Not yet Hughes, not yet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Flores lands a couple of digs. Hughes is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Flores stopping the sweep attempt from Hughes. Hughes working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Flores doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Flores manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Flores makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Hughes throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Flores distracts Hughes with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Hughes controls Flores momentarily but Flores frees himself. Flores wants to control from the top but Hughes keeps moving. Flores controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Hughes isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Flores stacks Hughes on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Flores!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Hughes is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Flores trying to control the position but Hughes is working away.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Flores moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Hughes is rocked! Flores shoots in for a takedown. SLAM! Brutal! Hughes is out cold and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Slam). Ric Flores! Ric Flores took to the mic after the fight and begged the organizational hierarchy for a shot at the title.
