With a record of 17 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Clyde Jones!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Nice defenses there by Jones.
Jones blocks a head kick by Karwoski.

and Karwoski counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Karwoski.
Karwoski lands a hook that snaps the head of Jones backwards.
Karwoski gets through Jones's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Jones jumps guard but Karwoski stands there with Jones around his waist. Jones gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Jones jumps guard but Karwoski turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Karwoski would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Jones is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Karwoski defends well.

Jones has momentary wrist control but Karwoski slips an elbow through the middle.

Jones has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Karwoski can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Jones had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Karwoski defends it easily.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Karwoski stands up over Jones, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Jones is looking for a triangle here but Karwoski uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Karwoski in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Jones is looking to regain half guard here but Karwoski keeps moving and retains side control.

Jones misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
A little feinted left hand from Karwoski on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Karwoski tries a low kick but Jones avoids it.
Jones darts in looking for a takedown but Karwoski gets double underhooks and turns Jones into the cage.
Karwoski does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Jones drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Karwoski defends it well.
Karwoski cracks Jones with a right hand to the side of the head.
Clyde Jones is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jones tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Karwoski swivels and escapes.
Karwoski is looking to counter the offense by Jones and move into the clinch.
Kirk Karwoski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Clyde Jones.
Jones shoots in and drives through. Karwoski sprawls well.

I was talking to Karwoski's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Karwoski digs a right hand into Jones's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Jones's gas tank.
Karwoski's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Clinched against the cage, Karwoski lands a big elbow that drops Jones! The ref dives in to save him from more shots - Jones is complaining that he's OK but he was done.

During a confident post fight interview, Kirk Karwoski thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
