Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Thurston Underwood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Darren Reus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Thurston Underwood! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Darren Reus! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shigeki Fujiwara and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reus forces Underwood back against the ropes and clinches. Reus tightens his grip and picks Underwood up, before dumping him to the ground. Underwood manages to land in guard. Underwood is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Underwood looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Underwood not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Reus is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's one minute gone in the round. Underwood keeping full guard, as Reus tries to pass. Reus stopping the sweep attempt from Underwood. Reus trying to control the position from guard on top but Underwood is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Reus won't allow Underwood to sweep him here. Reus is looking to pass into half guard but Underwood pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Underwood is in guard. Underwood passes into half guard. Reus trying to control here.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Reus looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Underwood! Underwood is looking to regain half guard here but Reus keeps moving and retains side control. Underwood is trying to control Reus's posture but Reus avoids it. Underwood is looking for a sweep. Reus tries to move into full mount but can't pass Underwood's legs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Underwood tries to buck Reus off but Reus is having none of it. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Underwood is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Underwood slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Reus must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Underwood lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Underwood fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Reus checks it well. Reus feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Underwood is trying to control the position but Reus postures up. Reus with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Reus working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Reus is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Underwood is trying to control the position but Reus postures up. Reus wants to stand and escape but instead Underwood has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Underwood trying to control but Reus is working from the bottom.

God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Reus avoids the body shot from Underwood.
Reus gets a clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Darren Reus dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Underwood takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Reus takes the fight into the clinch. Reus decides to pull guard. Underwood with a nice head shot there. Underwood slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Reus tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Underwood wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Underwood is looking to take a break and control but Reus is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Reus's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Underwood wants to control but Reus is keeping him busy. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Underwood controls the position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Reus gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Reus pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Reus has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Reus looking to score a takedown here. Underwood is defending well but Reus drives through and ends up in Underwood's guard. Reus stays in close to Underwood's body and controls the position. Reus in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Underwood being controlled here, momentarily. Underwood lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Underwood stands and throws Reus's legs to the side, diving into side control. Reus is looking for a sweep. Underwood prevents Reus from escaping the position. Underwood wants to lay and pray for a moment but Reus keeps working.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reus moves into range and clinches up with Underwood. Reus lands a takedown into guard.
Reus wants to stand and escape but instead Underwood has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Reus is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Underwood dives into side control.
Reus is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Underwood is controlling him well. Underwood advances to full mount. Underwood looking to control but Reus is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Underwood unloads with some shots from mount but Reus bucks and avoids them well.

Darren Reus showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Reus jabs at Underwood's body. Reus rushes Underwood and presses him up against the ropes. Reus breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Reus digs a good body shot into Underwood's ribs. Reus gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Underwood tries to circle away but Reus has him pinned against the ropes. Reus turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Reus wants to control but Underwood is keeping him busy. Underwood is trying to control Reus's posture but Reus avoids it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Underwood is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Underwood regains half guard, as Reus was trying to land strikes. Underwood is looking for a sweep. Reus is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Reus looks to land a strike but Underwood avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Horrible takedown attempt by Underwood or perhaps it was just good defense by Reus, which made it look bad. Reus clinches with his opponent.
Reus slows down the pace here.
Reus's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Underwood has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Reus takes the fight into the clinch. Reus jumps guard and drags Underwood to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Underwood trying to control but Reus is working from the bottom. Underwood postures up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Underwood pushing down on Reus's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Underwood trying to control from half guard but Reus is working away. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Reus keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Reus dives in and scores a takedown into Underwood's guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Underwood controls Reus momentarily but Reus frees himself. Thurston Underwood has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Darren Reus is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Underwood looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Reus is defending well. Underwood quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Reus has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Underwood celebrates on the ropes, with the crowd.
