Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Neal Mccall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Denis Hussey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Neal Mccall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Denis Hussey!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Chris Edwards and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hussey drives through with a takedown into Mccall's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Mccall scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Hussey throws a lazy head kick

and Mccall counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Mccall controlling the action here.
Hussey is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Mccall will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Mccall prevents Hussey from standing back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mccall seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Hussey is defending against the submission attempts here by Mccall.
Hussey misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Mccall in particular looking to stall.

Mccall is looking for a kimura but Hussey is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Mccall to get the leverage.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hussey looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Mccall has Hussey up against the cage in a clinch.
Hussey should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Hussey lands with a short shot to the head.


It looks like Neal Mccall has been cut.

Hussey drags the fight down to the ground.
Mccall content to stall in guard here.

Hussey is working an open guard so Mccall takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Mccall has taken the fight to the clinch.

Hussey is trying to break free.
Hussey trying to control the position but instead, Mccall has worked for underhooks and has pushed Hussey into the cage.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Mccall gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Hussey is trying to force a seperation but Mccall has the dominant position.
Mccall really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Hussey wants to stall.

Hussey has hold of one of Mccall's legs. Mccall is fighting the takedown attempt but Hussey gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Mccall pushes Hussey off and gets back to his feet.

Mccall closes the distance and pushes Hussey back into the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hussey misses with a punch on the inside.
Mccall doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Hussey lands a knee to the body.

Hussey tries to break free but Mccall pushes him back against the cage.
Mccall has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Hussey lands a takedown into guard.

Mccall uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Hussey closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hussey lands in his opponent's guard.
Hussey is breathing heavily.
Hussey preventing the sweep.
Mccall has control of Hussey's left arm, preventing Hussey from doing any damage.
Mccall wants to stand but Hussey is controlling the position.
Hussey throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mccall works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Mccall is pulling down on Hussey's head to control his posture.
Hussey must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Mccall manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hussey manages to get himself to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mccall decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Hussey, up you get!

Hussey tries to keep at a distance but Mccall has taken the fight into the clinch.

The referee is keeping an eye on Mccall - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Mccall is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Hussey has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Mccall clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Mccall manages to escape to his feet.

Hussey gets tackled into the cage by Mccall. Mccall maintains the clinch.

Hussey tries to break the clinch but Mccall is controlling the position.

Mccall displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hussey throws out the jab.
Mccall is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hussey can do to turn this around?

Hussey feints and as Mccall raises his hands in defense, Hussey changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Mccall is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Mccall pushes Hussey off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Hussey takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hussey shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Mccall looks like he's trying to stand up.

Mccall kicks off Hussey and gets to his feet.

Mccall clinches with his opponent.
Hussey throws an elbow that misses.
A right hook to the body lands for Hussey.
Hussey avoiding damage as Mccall throws knees to the body.

The referee calls for Mccall to work.
Mccall is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Hussey is defending well for now.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Mccall takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Mccall has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Hussey is trying to keep an underhook but Mccall manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Mccall is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hussey sees it coming and defends easily.
Denis Hussey has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Mccall decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Hussey shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mccall's guard.

Mccall scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Hussey lands a big head kick that sends Mccall tumbling to the mat! Hussey takes a step backwards and waves Mccall back to his feet - he wants the finish!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Sloppy strikes from Hussey. Those never looked like landing.
Mccall tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Hussey manages to circle out of the way.
Oh Mccall is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hussey looks for the body kick but Mccall saw that one coming.
An attempted straight right counter from Mccall misses the target.
Hussey attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Mccall closes the distance and clinches.
Mccall stalling the fight.
Mccall on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Mccall seems to have got his legs back now.

Neal Mccall is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Neal Mccall.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mccall, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
