Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Knight!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 1, fighting out of New York, Jurgen Balhussen!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Franklyn Lucas and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Knight does no damage.
Balhussen throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Knight shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Balhussen as he jumps to the side.
Knight plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Balhussen misses with a wild combination.
Balhussen connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.


It looks like James Knight has been cut.
Balhussen shoots in but no luck this time.
Knight wants to clinch up but Balhussen keeps it at a distance.
Knight with a lazy takedown attempt

and Balhussen counters with a nice double leg into side control. Knight won't be happy with that.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Balhussen decides to stand back up. Balhussen steps back and let's Knight get back to his feet.
Some wild striking there from Knight.
Knight tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Balhussen counters with a nice uppercut.
Balhussen shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Knight pinned against the cage. Knight gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Balhussen looks for a takedown but Knight sprawls well.
James Knight has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jurgen Balhussen.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Balhussen throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Balhussen moves into the clinch.

Knight gets a trip takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Knight is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Balhussen is just riding it out for now. Knight eventually gives up the hold.
Balhussen is looking for a sweep. Knight is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Knight is tying to control. Balhussen wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Knight takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Knight has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Balhussen looks gassed!
Knight wants to take a breather but Balhussen is having none of it.
Balhussen is looking to control Knight's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Balhussen avoid being mounted?

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Knight stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Balhussen to get to his feet.

Knight closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Balhussen to the mat! Balhussen manages to get full guard.

Knight gets to his feet - Balhussen follows without any prompting.
Balhussen misses with a takedown attempt

and Knight counters with a single leg into guard. Balhussen didn't expect that.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Knight trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Balhussen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Knight's guard.

Knight is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Balhussen has his hands clasped together but Knight extends an breaks Balhussen's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Knight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). James Knight!
James Knight retains his super heavyweight title!
