Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bato Bato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Benny Lawlor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lawlor has chosen I Have A Dream as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bato Bato!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Benny Lawlor!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Daniel Franklin and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bato shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lawlor but Lawlor pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Bato looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lawlor is fending him off so far but Bato persists. Nope, Lawlor circles away and we're back to standing.
Lawlor scores with a shot to the body.
Bato throws a series of punches but Lawlor moves out of range.

Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Lawlor!
It looks like Bato Bato has been cut.
Bato goes for a double leg but Lawlor avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Lawlor continues to drive forward.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Lawlor! But no joy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bato Bato. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bato looks to land a combination but Lawlor avoids it well.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Bato.
Bato is breathing heavily.
Lawlor feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Batos jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Lawlor clobbers Bato with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lawlor lands a nice looking body shot.
Good exchange - Lawlor coming out on top.
Bato is rocked!
Bato with a lazy takedown attempt
and Lawlor counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Oh Bato is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lawlor thuds a left hand into Bato's body.
Lawlor cracks Bato with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Bato tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Lawlor cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Bato with a poor takedown
and Lawlor counters with a crisp right that sends Bato to the canvas! Lawlor follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Benny Lawlor!
In his post fight interview, Benny Lawlor started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
