Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vira Bhadra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hector Torres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vira Bhadra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Hector Torres!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bhadra misses with a low kick.
Hector Torres seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bhadra misses with a wild body shot.
Bhadra shoots in for a takedown but Torres shows good takedown defense.
Bhadra rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Torres counters with a takedown into side control.
A lull in the action here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bhadra on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Bhadra is looking to regain half guard here but Torres keeps moving and retains side control.
Bhadra is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Torres's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Torres is working for a submission of some sort.
Torres is taking a breather. Bhadra says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Torres is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Bhadra shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Torres is trying to defend but Bhadra finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Torres is looking for a sweep. Bhadra is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Bhadra wants to work for an arm triangle but Torres is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Bhadra seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Torres does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Torres can do anything to dispel that myth.
Bhadra thows a huge punch but Torres dodges it nicely.
Torres is looking to control Bhadra's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Torres avoid being mounted?
Bhadra trying to mount his opponent but Torres defends it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Torres is controlling Bhadra's position as best he can from this difficult position.

The fighters are battling for position here. Torres manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Bhadra throws a lazy right hand but Torres sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Torres goes for a double leg but Bhadra avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Bhadra continues to drive forward.
Bhadra thinks about countering with a body kick.
Bhadra misses with a body punch

and Torres counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Bhadra tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Torres has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Bhadra is trying to escape the mount.

Torres controlling the pace for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bhadra is wriggling around trying to escape.
Torres avoids the attempt from Bhadra to control.
Bhadra tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Torres is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Bhadra can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hector Torres dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Bhadra keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Torres checks a leg kick.
Bhadra sets himself, and Torres steps forward looking for the clinch! Bhadra avoids it this time.
Torres changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bhadra tries to avoid it but Torres manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bhadra to the ground. Bhadra escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Torres fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Vira Bhadra has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hector Torres.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bhadra takes a swing at Torres's ribcage but misses.
Torres avoids the head kick by Bhadra.
Bhadra shoots for a double leg takedown but Torres sprawls well. He's pushed Bhadra's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Torres has closed the distance and engaged Bhadra in a clinch.
Torres misses with a knee strike.

Torres wants the takedown. Bhadra is fighting it off but Torres persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Bhadra's guard against the cage.
Torres wants to pass the guard but Bhadra is keeping the position.

Bhadra working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Torres doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Torres manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Bhadra not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Bhadra wants to control but Torres passes easily into half guard.
Bhadra trying to get back to full guard but Torres takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!

Bhadra wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Torres is hanging on to Bhadra's back as he tries to escape.

Torres looking to break Bhadra's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Bhadra remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Torres will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Torres scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Bhadra is looking for a way out.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Torres is not going to allow Bhadra to sit and survive in this position.
Torres biding his time, looking for the opening.
Bhadra wants to control his opponent's hands but Torres gets his hands free.

Torres is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Bhadra defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Torres has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Torres controlling the position well here. Bhadra rolled but Torres kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.

Hector Torres showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bhadra is working to get back to half guard.
