Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gary Rivers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Drake Mill!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Dillan Fox and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mill keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Mill throws a counter combo.

Mill scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Sloppy strikes there by Mill.
Mill trying to control the position but Rivers is working away.
Mill sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Rivers is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Rivers really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Rivers tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mill wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Mill thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rivers is fighting off a takedown attempt but Mill is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Rivers to the mat. Rivers regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Rivers postures up in Mill's guard and throws a big left but Mill blocks it.
Rivers with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Mill utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Rivers loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Mill is pulling down on Rivers's head to control his posture.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Rivers is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Rivers throws a body shot but no joy.
Mill throws a right and a left that both miss.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Drake Mill will probably get the nod.

Rivers throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mill's waist but Mill gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rivers off to one side.
Mill wants to counter with a clinch but Rivers pushes him away.

Gary Rivers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rivers was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Mill throws an overhand right that lands on Rivers's shoulder, as Rivers tries to avoid the shot.
A little feinted left hand from Rivers on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Mill is breathing heavily.
Rivers tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mill swats him away and circles back towards the center.
A little jabbing left from Mill on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Rivers plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

Mill swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Rivers throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

And Mill tries to counter it with a takedown but Rivers pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Rivers throws a nice elbow from the bottom.

That was a close second round but I would say that Gary Rivers will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Mill drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Rivers dives on top into guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Rivers has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Gary Rivers.
I think Rivers has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
