Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Boris Thomas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Daniel Cohen!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Damien Edna and Darius Henderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cohen throws a head kick but Thomas moves out of range.
Thomas really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

and Cohen counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Cohen.

Cohen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Thomas sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cohen somewhat.

Thomas closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Cohen manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Thomas throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Cohen tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Thomas is in Cohen's guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Cohen is trying to pull guard but Thomas has him pressed against the cage.

Thomas's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Boris Thomas will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Thomas closes the distance and clinches up with Cohen, looking for a takedown. Thomas pushes Cohen against the cage but Cohen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Thomas shoots in for a takedown but Cohen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Thomas is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Thomas gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Thomas gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Thomas apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Thomas tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Cohen smiles and moves away.

Cohen prevents a takedown attempt there.

Thomas breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Thomas tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cohen swivels and escapes.
Cohen slaps away a takedown attempt from Thomas, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Thomas avoids the head kick by Cohen.

Cohen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Thomas will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Cohen postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Cohen sneaks out the side door and pushes Thomas away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

I think Cohen has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
