0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Martin TheBeast! The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Vladimir Khabensky and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Forenza drives through with a takedown into guard. TheBeast looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Forenza stopping the sweep attempt from TheBeast. Forenza advances position into side control! A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Forenza tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. TheBeast seems a little lost for a moment, as Forenza dominates the positioning. TheBeast prevents Forenza from moving into mount.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Al Forenza just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. TheBeast tries a low kick but Forenza avoids it. TheBeast tries to clinch there but Forenza circles away.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Forenza's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Forenza takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Forenza has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Forenza shoots in and bounces TheBeast off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Forenza is pushing down on TheBeast's leg trying to pass to half guard. TheBeast is fighting to maintain full guard but Forenza has managed to sneak the leg through. Forenza content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Forenza looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for TheBeast! Forenza looking to control and managing it successfully. Al Forenza overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Forenza looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Al Forenza dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
TheBeast looks to clinch so Forenza counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Forenza forces his way into half guard. Forenza sitting and controlling from the half guard.

He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Forenza in particular looking to stall. TheBeast is trying to maintain the position but Forenza is very close to passing his half guard.

A low kick from TheBeast lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Forenza has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Forenza and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Forenza feints and as TheBeast raises his hands in defense, Forenza changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. TheBeast wants to improve his position but instead Forenza has moved into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Forenza perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Forenza has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Forenza controlling his opponent. Forenza seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down TheBeast for as long as he can get away with. TheBeast is wriggling around trying to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Forenza sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

And that's the end of the fight! Al Forenza showed his dominance in that final round. Well Forenza has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
