Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lane Perry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Ochoa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). John Ochoa will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lane Perry! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Ochoa! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ochoa throws a head kick but Perry moves out of range.
Perry is looking for a counter combo. Ochoa swinging wildly here.
Perry appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Ochoa throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Perry tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Ochoa is in Perry's guard. Perry controls Ochoa momentarily but Ochoa frees himself. Perry is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Ochoa is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Ochoa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Perry. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Perry preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Perry is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Ochoa must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Ochoa wants to control from the top but Perry keeps moving. Perry looking for a guillotine here but Ochoa defends easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ochoa trying to stand up but can't free himself from Perry's guard. Perry working a defensive guard but Ochoa passes into half guard.
Ochoa tries to pass the half guard into mount. Perry knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Perry lands with a few short shots to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Perry wants to improve his position but Ochoa is controlling well.
Perry is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ochoa's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ochoa's back! Ochoa looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Perry really is a fat lump. Ochoa is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Perry gets his way!
Perry has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Perry is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Ochoa has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Ochoa's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Ochoa defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Perry's arms. Ochoa is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Perry gets his way!
Ochoa is in bad spot here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Ochoa looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. Perry is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Perry has his opponent's back but Ochoa is looking to stand. He manages to get to his feet and shakes off Perry. Ochoa lands a jab to the head.
Perry tries to clinch up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Ochoa dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Ochoa looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Ochoa is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Perry doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ochoa. Ochoa escapes and gets back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ochoa clinches. Perry wants to take the fight to the mat but Ochoa manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Perry is fighting off a takedown attempt but Ochoa is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Perry to the mat. Perry regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Perry looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ochoa is one step ahead there. Perry is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ochoa wants to stand but Perry has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Ochoa has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Ochoa wants to control from the top but Perry keeps moving. Perry striking off his back but it's not causing Ochoa any problems. Ochoa trying to control the position from guard on top but Perry is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Perry trying to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Perry is working an open guard so Ochoa takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Ochoa closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Perry's guard. Ochoa slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Perry. Perry is trying to get back to full guard. Perry is trying to control but can't.
Ochoa wants to pass to mount but Perry is defending the position. John Ochoa has got the better of the ground game so far. Perry wants to control but Ochoa is keeping busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ochoa throws a strike but Perry avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Ochoa decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Ochoa closes the distance and clinches. Perry drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Ochoa gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Perry escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ochoa decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Ochoa is figuring out what he wants to do next. Perry is trying to maintain the position but Ochoa is very close to passing his half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Perry looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Ochoa trying to mount his opponent but Perry defends it. Ochoa is taking a breather. Perry says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Perry trying to control from the bottom.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ochoa stalling. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Perry is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Ochoa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Perry pushes a forearm under Ochoa's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Ochoa is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
