The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Day throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Machida.
Day fails to land the takedown.
Day fails to land with a series of punches.
A punch lands to the side of Machida 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Machida looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Machida tries to clinch there but Day circles away.
Machida tries to close the distance and clinch but Day swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Day fails to land the takedown.

Machida connects with a vicious head kick that knocks Day to the floor! Machida dives in looking for the finish!

Day is rocked!

It looks like Andy Day has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Machida postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Day to stand up.
Oh Day is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Machida connects with a superb combination that knocks Day out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Machida before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Day!
