Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bruce Tripplet!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jose Rizal!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Winston Alpacca and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tripplet tests Rizal's chin there with a solid looking shot.
It looks like Jose Rizal has been cut.
Tripplet takes a head kick and keeps coming.
A shot to the liver by Tripplet. Beautiful body shot.
Rizal is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Tripplet.
Rizal throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Tripplet's head.
Tripplet closes the distance and clinches.
Tripplet wants to break the clinch but can't.
Tripplet blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Tripplet trying to control the position but instead, Rizal has worked for underhooks and has pushed Tripplet into the cage.
Rizal breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Tripplet misses with a jab, cross combination.
Rizal misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Tripplet appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Tripplet has taken the fight to the clinch.
Tripplet is leaning against Rizal and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Rizal lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Tripplet breaks from the clinch.
Rizal misses with a straight left.
Tripplet dips to his left and cracks Rizal with an uppercut!
Tripplet drops Rizal with a beautiful combination! Rizal stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Tripplet is looking for the KO!
Rizal is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Tripplet fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Rizal looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Rizal is still on wobbly legs! Can Tripplet finish him?
Jose Rizal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rizal looks winded!
Tripplet lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Rizal falls backwards - clearly groggy! Tripplet dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bruce Tripplet!
