Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Veli Schwarzeneg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexei Erschov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 57 - 2, fighting out of Tokyo, Veli Schwarzeneg!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 18 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexei Erschov!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yuuki Gou and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Erschov.
Schwarzeneg leaves Erschov with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Erschov misses with a takedown attempt - Schwarzeneg sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Veli Schwarzeneg has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alexei Erschov.

Schwarzeneg fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Erschov sprawls well initially but Schwarzeneg persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Erschov won't allow Schwarzeneg to pass to mount.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Erschov has hold of Schwarzeneg's hands but Schwarzeneg slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Erschov lands one or two decent shots to the body here. Although from his own half guard, he's not going to be causing too much damage.

We've been hearing reports that Schwarzeneg has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Schwarzeneg tries to counter by clinching up but Erschov breaks away and moves out of range.
Erschov throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Schwarzeneg on the side of the head.

Schwarzeneg looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Erschov with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Erschov sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Schwarzeneg loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Erschov scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Schwarzeneg land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Schwarzeneg stands and salutes the crowd.
