Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sergej Romanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Misha Hakin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sergej Romanov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Misha Hakin!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Viktor Lagutenko and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Romanov looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hakin is fending him off so far but Romanov persists. Nope, Hakin circles away and we're back to standing.
Hakin scores with a push kick.
Hakin keeps the fight on the outside.
Hakin throws a right hand that Romanov ducks under and follows up with a left that Romanov also avoids with ease.
Romanov fails with a takedown attempt.

Hakin instigates a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hakin breaks the clinch.
Hakin throws a head kick that half lands.

Hakin shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Hakin was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Romanov explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Hakin tries a head kick but it misses.
Romanov shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hakin sprawls well. Hakin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Romanov gets slowly back to his feet.
As Romanov backs off Hakin throws a huge counter combo but Romanov manages to avoid it all.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sergej Romanov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Romanov tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Hakin manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Romanov sets himself, and Hakin steps forward looking for the clinch! Romanov avoids it this time.
Hakin throws a sloppy head kick and Romanov moves out of range easily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Romanov looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Romanov is looking to reverse the position.
Hakin wants to control but Romanov is keeping him busy.
Romanov is trying to control Hakin's posture but Hakin avoids it.

Hakin is working Romanov over with some ground and pound from side control.

Romanov manages to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hakin stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

and Romanov counters with a right hand to the body.
Romanov tries to clinch there but Hakin circles away.
Hakin tries to counter with a clinch but Romanov shakes him off and moves away.
Romanov avoids the head kick by Hakin.
Romanov appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Romanov defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Hakin.
Hakin shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Romanov pinned against the cage. Romanov gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Hakin looks winded!
Hakin closes the distance and clinches up with Romanov, looking for a takedown. Hakin pushes Romanov against the cage but Romanov circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Romanov shoots in looking for a takedown but Hakin manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Romanov's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Hakin decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Romanov scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Hakin manages to mount him!
Romanov is trying desperately to improve position.
Romanov wants to get back to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hakin connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Hakin breaks from Romanov's wrist control and lands an elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Misha Hakin dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hakin.

Hakin drives through with a takedown into guard.

Romanov has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Hakin has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Hakin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Hakin closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Romanov manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Hakin keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Hakin has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hakin drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Romanov decides to pull guard.

Romanov is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Romanov controls Hakin momentarily but Hakin frees himself.
Romanov keeping moving, preventing Hakin from controlling successfully.
Romanov is pulling down on Hakin's head. It's preventing any offense from Hakin, at least for the moment.

Romanov is looking for a triangle but Hakin pushes his legs off easily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hakin trying to control but Romanov is working from the bottom.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Hakin displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Romanov.
Romanov bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Hakin throws a sloppy head kick and Romanov moves out of range easily.
Romanov goes for a double leg but Hakin avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Hakin continues to drive forward.

Romanov is looking for a sweep. Hakin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Hakin wants to free his trapped foot but Romanov is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Misha Hakin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Romanov jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hakin walks away with a smile on his face. Romanov gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Hakin dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Hakin fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Hakin shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Hakin is trying to control. Romanov wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Hakin is looking for a kimura but Romanov is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hakin to get the leverage.
Romanov on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Romanov tries to get to full guard but Hakin has control of the leg.
Hakin moves nicely into side control.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Romanov tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hakin wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Romanov throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hakin pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Hakin pushes Romanov up against the cage in a clinch.
Hakin lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Romanov.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Hakin ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Hakin no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Romanov is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Sergej Romanov has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Misha Hakin is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Hakin bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Romanov's guard.

Misha Hakin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hakin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
