Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between German Valdez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gaudencio Roman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gaudencio Roman is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 32 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, German Valdez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gaudencio Roman!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valdez misses with a takedown attempt - Roman sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Roman lands a lovely overhand right.
Roman leaves Valdez with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Valdez on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Roman. Roman obviously looking to wear him down.
Roman looks to score with a jab to the body but Valdez is just out of range.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Roman lands with a good body shot.
Valdez shoots for a takedown but Roman saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for German Valdez. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Horrible takedown attempt by Valdez or perhaps it was just good defense by Roman, which made it look bad.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Roman counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Roman clinches up with Valdez and pushes him back against the cage.
Valdez jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Roman walks away with a smile on his face. Valdez gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Roman shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Valdez napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Roman works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Valdez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Valdez is looking to regain half guard here but Roman keeps moving and retains side control.

Roman is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Valdez is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Roman connects with a nice short shot to Valdez's temple.

Gaudencio Roman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Roman stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Roman wants it to stay on the feet.
Valdez sets himself, and Roman steps forward looking for the clinch! Valdez avoids it this time.
Valdez's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Roman connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Valdez scrambles back to his feet.

Valdez shoots in for a double leg but Roman sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Roman is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Valdez doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Roman.
